These two teams will collide for the second time in this season. Chennai Super Kings tamed the Capitals by six wickets the last time they met, in Delhi. Chennai Super Kings have been the most dominating team in the history of the IPL. However, their recent performances don’t match their stature as they have been shambolic on the field. CSK have lost three of their last four league games which has resulted in them sliding down to the second position....

This was the story of the side all season as they got into good positions but threw away games due to lack of composure shown by the batsmen and bowlers. High-priced players Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat failed miserably giving innumerable headaches to the management. Meanwhile, the huge discovery of the talent in 17-year old Riyan Parag and the outstanding performance of leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal will be rare positives for the side....

Yes, they had to depend on other results; in particular, they needed KKR to lose their last match, and that’s what happened. It was not all luck though. The reason SRH qualified was because of their superior net run rate. The Hyderabad-based franchise won the games they won by a significant margin. Rayudu was snubbed from the senior team just before the 2019 World Cup and was bitterly disappointed. He showed what India missed in the tournament with his performance in the first game of IPL 2020 against Mumbai Indians. CSK were in a tricky situation having lost two quick wickets chasing 163 runs when Rayudu arrived at the crease. The 34-year-old went to stabilize the innings and power CSK to victory with a knock of 71 runs off just 48 balls....

Buttler’s quarantine period differs from other English and Australian players, as they had arrived straight from the bio-bubble for their limited-overs series in the UK to the IPL’s bio-bubble. They were therefore required to stay in isolation for just 36 hours, while Buttler will have to serve a mandatory six-day quarantine for travelling to the UAE with his family. Buttler and his family will also have to produce two negative COVID-19 test results to join the bio-secure bubble....

Speaking on CricBuzz Live, Sehwag reckoned that bowling a variety of deliveries rather than conventional off-spin reduced Ashwin’s chances of getting a wicket. The former swashbuckling batsman added that while Ashwin has proved to be economical as a senior bowler, he should contribute more in the wicket column.
