Ever since its inception, the Indian Premier League has gifted fans many high scoring thrillers, and IPL 2019 was no exception. There were plenty of occasions this season when the batsmen took on the opposition bowlers from the word go, and went on to play spectacular innings filled with big hits. David Warner will return to join the Sunrisers for the upcoming edition of the IPL. It will be interesting to see if he’s able to take over the captaincy from Kane Williamson who has led them incredibly well. Warner’s arrival will also strengthen their batting line-up. Sunrisers Hyderabad have the most balanced squad on paper, and their bowling attack is probably the best in the tournament. If this team play to their potential, they can surely lift their second IPL title this year....

Shane Watson’s sensational knock against the Sunrisers helped the Chennai Super Kings to remain at the top of the table. Having lost back-to-back games, CSK made a terrific comeback in their previous encounter against SRH. With eight wins from their 11 outings, CSK have almost qualified for the playoffs. CSK have a slight edge in tomorrow’s encounter as they are yet to lose a home game this season. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians have been in decent form so far in this year’s IPL....

The team management’s decision to back a core team of 11-13 players, and not chop and change the team around too much has paved way for success. Delhi Capitals have managed to reach the playoffs after a gap of seven years and can be extremely proud of their performance so far in IPL 2019. SRH on the other hand has mainly been about Jonny Bairstow and David Warner. The other batsmen barring Manish Pandey have been far too inconsistent and the bowling attack hasn’t been very threatening like previous seasons....

Virat Kohli has been leading RCB for quite some time now and with a change in the squad this year, fans were hoping that they would be a change in the team’s fortunes too. However, the results and games have proved to be opposite. Amidst all of this, a lot of RCB fans and people from around the world are calling for Virat Kohli’s resignation from captaincy. They are saying that it is due to his poor captaincy that this team is losing and they are calling for a change in captaincy....

Kings XI Punjab did a good job with the ball but it is their batsmen who they will really be happy about. KL Rahul played a gritty knock of 71 off 57 balls to lead Punjab to victory while Mayank Agarwal’s quick-fire 43 off 21 balls was the real game-changer. With their top order set and David Miller a solid presence, Punjab’s issues seem to have dissipated and they will look to get another home win....

RCB captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to field first. SRH’s openers Martin Guptill and Wriddhiman Saha got the team off a flying start, before Navdeep Saini got the breakthrough by dismissing Saha for 20 off 11 balls. At the end of six overs, SRH were 52 for 1. After the power play, Washington Sundar dismissed Guptill and Manish Pandey in quick succession to leave the visitors reeling....

RCB won the toss, and, to everyone’s expectations, decided to chase. Mumbai got off to a very good start with both Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma firing up the order. Yuvraj Singh then played a nice little cameo, scoring 23 off just 12 deliveries. Surya Kumar Yadav, at the other end, held the MI innings together before Chahal showed why the wrist spinners are so important in this format....

DC started off steadily with Shikhar Dhawan anchoring the innings. But after the wicket of Rishabh Pant, things went downhill for the home team. Dwayne Bravo bowled intelligently during the the death overs using all his variations. His slow cutters were particularly effective with the pitch not offering much pace. Dhawan batted well and adjusted to the pitch but did not garner enough support from his team. 160 would have been a good score on the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch and Delhi were well on course to achieve it....

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, Kohli’s decision backfired as Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a huge score of 231/2 in their allotted 20 overs, on the back of brilliant centuries by their openers Jonny Bairstow and David Warner. Chasing a huge score of 232, the Royal Challengers Bangalore were never in the chase as their star batsmen Virat Kohli and AB De Villers got out cheaply....

RCB have released some key players before the 2019 auction with the likes of Brendon McCullum, Quinton de Kock, and Chris Woakes shown the door. However, they have made some great buys at the auction. Shimron Hetmyer is definitely a player to watch out for in IPL 2019. Shivam Dube is another player who has attracted a lot of attention at the auction. Jonny Bairstow gave a wonderful start to the chase as he scored 48 runs off just 28 balls. The rapid start provided by the English wicket-keeper batsman made the chase easy for the Hyderabad based franchise. Sunrisers lost wickets at regular intervals but the required rate was always in control. In the end, it took a four and a six from Mohammad Nabi to chase down the total. In addition to scoring 17 runs off 9 balls, Nabi also picked the crucial wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant....

Meanwhile the trading window, which is currently open, will close on 14 November. Every franchise has been allotted a total of Rs. 85 crore for the 2020 edition. Further, they also have an additional purse of Rs. 3 crore apart from the balance leftover from the previous auction. Among the eight franchises, Delhi Capitals have the biggest balance with Rs. 8.2 crore, and Rajasthan Royals are in second spot with a balance of Rs....

The wicketkeeper-batsman added that a lot of different things are going through his mind as the leader of his team. But he would look to keep things simple going into the new season of the IPL.
